Inspiration of the Week

A long time friend of mine gave a piece of paper with the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi typed on it. She made it for me as I was planning on entering the mission field. It is pinned to my board that hangs near my computer as a reminder of how we should live. Today I am asking God for the strength and courage to live this prayer out.

Lord, make me an instrument of peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, let me sow pardon.
Where there is doubt, let me sow faith.
Where there is despair, let me sow hope.
Where there is darkness, let me sow light.
Where there is sadness, let me sow joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Blessings to you today!

  1. So funny you have this posted because I just re-read this a couple weeks ago and gave it to my hubby! I try to read it every day....and fail most of the time :) Love to you, sweet mama!
